A letter to my Wonder Woman:
I’m not expecting for this day only to be a great day, I’m hoping everyday is like that for you. You do everything for everyone, and I’m sure you know that you’re my wonder woman, but I’m starting to think you don’t know how much you inspire others.I can’t remember how many times I said Thank You, but I know sometimes I haven’t.
I can’t remember a moment where you weren’t there, supporting me till the end.
I remember every advice of yours, though sometimes I may forget to follow them…
I wish you more than a joyful day, I want to thank you for the woman and mother you are. I want to thank you for being so you, through everything. I’m still learning from you, you really surprise me…
If people ask me about you, the first thing in my mind is your smile, how you’re always laughing. Your authenticity, your strength, your free thinking, always great looking. Those moments when you’re sitting peacefully reading your favorite books, while I can’t stop talking and then you get all exasperated, those are the pictures of little moments I save for myself. The relationship you have with Dad, that is the best relationship in the world, for me, it is the real example of two soulmates who were lucky enough to found each other in this life.
If there’s someone who taught me how to find happiness in everything, that’s you. If someone has motivated me, supported me, and has never let me back down or give up, that’s you; How you’ve created this whole family of ours, that’s just amazing. And the most important for me, you’ve taught me how to live and enjoy life, all these, thanks to you.
What I am today, and what I will be tomorrow it is also thanks to you (and Dad…but it’s not his day, so let’s skip this). If someone would’ve told me to choose between, Beyonce, Meryl Streep or you… Obviously, I would’ve said… well, there’s not need to compare, right?
But back to the subject… the thing is, I’ll use this day for you. I know that if I would’ve asked you, you were going to say: “Don’t write about me! Look something else” But…let me remind you this is my blog, where I choose what to say, I share what I think and what I feel. I want to share that you’re still by my side, I’m grateful for that. Honestly, I’ll never get tired of it, I’ll say thank you a million times, you deserve the best of this world. Our journey together just got started, there’s a lot of laughter, memories, and experiences waiting for us in life.
To my Wonder Woman. Happy Mother’s Day.
To all those women who are not wearing a cape, but work, teach, share, and do the impossible, to all those women who someone may consider or called Mom, Happy Mother’s Day.
