Besides work, family, friends, daily routine, going to the gym, and all those activities we try to manage and balance per week… Besides all these…about a month ago, I could finally find some time and started a Yoga Instructor Certification Course affiliated with Yoga Alliance USA.

During the first chapters of the course I’ve confirmed the importance of introspection, of allowing ourselves to find that mutual understanding between what we say, do and want in life. Some people will have their own methods to reach that, maybe through mindfulness, exercise, religion or another personal activity.

For me, the key of all this, it’s to stay constantly seeking our wellbeing… trying to learn and solve. In my case, I need to live this to find peace with myself and my surroundings. Obviously this isn’t something easy to do alone, that’s why I find support in friends, family and those people who agree with me in this matter.

I feel that Yoga has been a platform that helps me breathe consciously, find balance, strength in my mind, body and soul. It requires a great effort from my part, to let myself live a different experience and follow some techniques for letting go, leaving from all those things, moments or even people that won’t lead to something good, but it has also teach me to recognize where to stay…

I didn’t made this up, this is already scientifically proved, and some of the benefits of this practice are that it helps decrease stress and anxiety, it reduces inflammation and muscle injuries. Helps improve heart health. Reduces chronic pain and recovers your sleep quality. Improves flexibility, balance and breathing control, as well as the strengthening of muscles, among others. But these are just some examples of clear improvements, without letting aside the positive impact and changes in a better mood and how you perceive your environment, day to day.

Related to this, I’d like to include this phrases that a close friend shared with me, the 4 laws of spirituality:

  • The person that comes is the correct.
  • How it happened was the only way it could have been.
  • The moment to start it’s always the right one.
  • When something ends. It just ends.

When we read, listen or repeat each of these previous phrases, we can realize that there’s no need to look further to simply apply them to our experiences, and remember that everything can happen in life. It is so unpredictable that the best we can do, is to find what works for us and recognize how to stay balanced with ourselves and  get through with the rest.

“Finding yourself and all that stuff” like someone once told me, its the healthiest way of taking care of our body, our physical stability, our mind and emotional balance. Though, for me, more than just that stuff it is a way of living. It adds value to each moment, this helps us be perceptive of our environment and its easier to live calm and value where we are standing. At leasts, this works for me and helps me find my peace. That’s why I think this reflexion is worth sharing.

If we are more open to new experiences, step forward and walk by the hand of someone we trust, it is almost certain that we’ll allow ourselves to feel the difference, accept realities and more…Everything you do for yourself, will always be worth it.

For now, I’ll keep attending the course and let’s hope that I’ll be teaching some classes soon, helping spread this practice, and share what has been learned. All in due time.

But what about you, have you ever practiced Yoga? What works for you, or how do you find yourself & your balance?
