These days have not been easy. You have involuntarily ventured into a life that seems to be upside down. But you are not the only one. All this, it’s as if you were playing the character of some movie with an apocalyptic plot and they did not send you the script to know how or when it ends. Even though, you should stay home, as much as you can. For your safety and of others.
Sometimes you feel like a little caged mouse. Either being alone or with company, you are still within 4 walls. Going from one side to another, repeating the same routine daily. Trying to find out how to feel less stressed, tired or so sick of it.
You can do some online shopping, but there’s a point when you no longer know what else to buy. Video calls are no longer as comforting as they were at the beginning. You have seen all the chapters of the new series and basically already tried out all the activities -recommended- during the quarantine.
On the other hand, there are also good days, these help you use the accumulated energy and give a little optimism to the situation. Take advantage of them.
This context that you are living is not normal. No one explained to you how to overcome it, how to overcome each day. No one was prepared. Not even your pet knew that you would stay home with pj’s on each day.
It’s okay that you don’t like this pandemic situation. It’s okay to want the cure for COVID-19 found tomorrow. It’s okay to feel frustrated, tired, upset. It is understandable to have an existential crisis from time to time. Also, it’s okay to try to get over it with help.
Don’t forget how this is unknown for everyone. Don’t ignore the precautions now. Stay home, stay informed of news and official recommendations. Just like you, the rest of the world is in the same situation. The pandemic affects us all.
Breathe, stay calm and be patient. There are also some apps that can help you with your mindfulness (click here for more info).
We will have to live a new normality and learn to adapt to other forms of living. But first, we must stay healthy and avoid increasing the number of infections.
You are going to get over it. Don’t ignore your hygiene and prevention efforts. Don’t omit your peace of mind or your health either. By taking care of yourself, you are also supporting others.
One day at a time.
