Day by day it is necessary to recognize that we have changed. We do not transform into opposites, rather, we just adapt. Indeed you are no longer the person you were before and that’s fine.
There will be people who make references about how you were the previous year or 3 months ago or since the last time they interacted with you. The past will be their point of comparison. However, that is also normal. It does not mean that they do so to offend or affect you in any way. We commonly take previous references to understand how things were before and how it is all now.
The objective of this writing is not to find out how others see you or what they think of you today. The most important thing is that you can accept yourself as you are right now. Aspiring to be the best version of you so far.
Change is an inherent part of human nature. We are constantly growing, both physically and mentally. So how could you expect to always stay the same? Even after several years, after all the experiences and learnings you’ve gained… would you still have to look and act the same? I guess you already know the answer to this…
Own your changes. Feel good about it. Allow and respect others to change freely too. Your path may cross with many people and in the same way it can go its separate ways. Enjoy the ride and those special moments when you meet someone else. Always remember: accept when it’s time for you to stay or if you should walk away.
Stay with the good moments. Do not go through life carrying eternal concerns, neither your own nor others. Don’t hold resentment and if the situation allows it, practice forgiveness. Life, as it can be fulfilling and long, can also present itself in a short and unpredictable version. Whatever the case, don’t worry about the change. Let it come and get ready to live it.
I will have to adapt to how I’ve changed. I will have to accept that you have changed too.
That neither you nor I are the same person as we used to, and that’s fine.
